Twelve Angry Men (2012)

Since 1995, West Jordan Theater Arts has presented theater patrons with dozens of high quality musical and comedy productions. Now, WJTA is proud to present its first drama, the classic “Twelve Angry Men” by Reginald Rose.

Adapted from Rose’s television show, then made famous in the 1957 and 1997 screenplays, “Twelve Angry Men” is the gripping story of a diverse jury deciding the fate of an accused murderer. This drama is set entirely in a jury room as these men argue for and against the guilt of a young man who could face the electric chair for allegedly killing his father. Known only by their numbers, Juror #3 (Criss Rosenlof) argues that the evidence is overwhelming against the nineteen year old defendant, while Juror #8 (Anthony Lovato) believes there is reasonable doubt. In the tradition of West Jordan Theater Arts and the Sugar Factory Playhouse, the language and content of this play are appropriate for families. However, some intense, dramatic scenes may not be suitable for young children.

Performances are Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, March 16-26, 7:30pm at West Jordan City Hall, 8000 South Redwood Road. Both Saturday performances will be followed by a brief question and answer session with members of the cast and the director, JC Carter. Tickets for all performances are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and students and are available at the West Jordan Macey’s Food Store or at the door.
