Bart Barker, Vice-President

Bart Barker is the General Manager of the Greater Salt Lake Municipal Services District. It provides services to six municipalities--Brighton, Copperton, Emigration Canyon, Kearns, Magna, and White City--and to the unincorporated communities in Salt Lake County, a total of 81,000 residents.

He has more than 20 years of executive management experience in technology, marketing, and publishing. He served for ten years as a Salt Lake County County Commissioner and more than 6 years as a senior policy adviser to the Salt Lake County Council.

 

Bart has built and led successful organizations for technology companies on the east and west coasts and in Utah. These have included research and development, design, product management, and operations. Products have included consumer software, Internet banking, ASP (application service provider), and electronic publishing. He has served as an editor and journalist for daily newspapers and other publications.
