Jen Worthen, West Jordan Concert
Band Director

Jen raw (3).jpg

Jen Worthen is the founding director of the West Jordan Jazz Band and the West Jordan Concert Band's current director.
She has also worked as an elementary band director for the last 15 years and as a general elementary music educator in the Jordan School District. Jen is primarily a baritone sax player now but has played most of the woodwinds throughout her musical career.

Her musical experience began in fifth grade when a teacher saw that the students at her school were struggling to make connections, so she began an elementary band program. From the moment Jen first tried to make a sound on the clarinet (and couldn't!), she was hooked. She still looks for ways to pay back that elementary teacher by paying it forward to future generations.

Music has since taken her across Europe as an inaugural member of the Utah Ambassadors of Music and allowed her to perform with several greats, including the Utah Symphony, the illustrious Joe Muscolino, and at the Tuacahn Center for the Performing Arts. Now, she loves making music with the incredible members of the Jazz band and the Concert Band.
