Thank you to everyone who joined us on December 6th for a festive evening featuring performances by the West Jordan Jazz Band, West Jordan Community Band, Mountain West Chorale, West Jordan Symphony, and the newly introduced Sky Island Quartet. This year’s Winter Wonderland concert offered a warm and memorable close to our performance season, showcasing the strength and variety of our community ensembles.

The evening opened with the West Jordan Jazz Band, whose trademark energy set an upbeat tone for the night. The West Jordan Community Band followed with a compelling mix of lively and reflective selections, offering a well-rounded musical experience.
During intermission, families and children enjoyed a special visit from Santa Claus, who posed for photos and listened to holiday wishes in the lobby. Meanwhile, members of the Sky Island Quartet performed seasonal favorites, creating an inviting and festive atmosphere for guests as they moved between performances.

After intermission, the program continued with Mountain West Chorale, whose warm and expressive blend of voices delivered a beautiful set of holiday selections.
West Jordan Symphony then introduced the Sky Island Quartet as their newest artistic partner. Through this collaboration, the Quartet will support expanded programming, community engagement, and education outreach on behalf of the Symphony. They also remain available for bookings at city events and galas throughout West Jordan. For more information, please visit their website.

The Quartet made its West Jordan performance debut onstage as part of a chamber orchestra selection alongside Symphony musicians — a tradition in which instrumentalists perform standing.
To bring the evening to a close, West Jordan Symphony performed selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, offering a familiar and festive finale that sent audiences into the holiday season with warmth and joy.
For those interested in participating in any of these ensembles, we invite you to follow them on social media for updates and opportunities. West Jordan Winds is currently auditioning for its new ensemble set to begin rehearsals in early 2026, and audition information is available here.
