Event Description

The play begins with the mysterious death of Sir Charles Baskerville on the fog-shrouded moors of Devonshire. Dr. Mortimer seeks the help of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, fearing that an ancient family curse—a demonic hound that preys on the Baskervilles—has returned to claim the next heir, Sir Henry.

While Holmes initially remains in London to investigate from afar, Watson travels to Baskerville Hall to protect Sir Henry. There, they encounter a suspicious cast of characters, including the eccentric Stapleton siblings, the secretive servants Mr. and Mrs. Barrymore, and a dangerous escaped convict hiding on the moor. As mysterious lights signal from the hall and the terrifying baying of a hound echoes across the landscape, the sleuthing duo must determine if the threat is supernatural or a calculated human plot to steal the family fortune.

This version of the famous Sherlock Holmes mystery blends "chills and laughter," using witty dialogue and eccentric characterizations to balance the gothic horror. This adaptation may not be suitable for young children. An 8 or 10-year-old might enjoy the suspense, but be mindful if they are sensitive to scary or violent themes, as the story involves a family curse, murder, and a terrifying beast.
