The West Jordan Symphony has been providing opportunities for musicians of all ages to perform and develop their musical talents since 1984. The symphony's mission is to create participation, education, and appreciation of the community's performing arts through scheduled concerts and other events. They are composed of musicians who have a great love for the fine arts and come together to volunteer their time for the love of music and community service.
The Spring Concert will feature classical music from great master composers such as Dvorak's 7th Symphony, Saint-Saens, Bach, and more. The symphony's performances have included pops, show tunes, movie soundtracks, patriotic music, and classical music. The members are dedicated and talented musicians who perform year-round, and their Spring and Fall concerts are a must-see.
They have performed different concertos for Violin, Viola, Cello, Trumpet, and Bassoon with the orchestra. The symphony has also performed works of Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Rimsky-Korsakov, Sibelius, Bach, Borodin, Smetana, Sousa, Rachmaninoff, Brahms, Liszt, Copland, Mozart, Elgar, Debussy, Wagner, Rossini, Ravel, Saint-Saëns, and many more.
The West Jordan Symphony's current music director is Dr. Robert Bott, who has continued the symphony's tradition of excellence. The symphony has had several other musical directors since its inception, including Don Findlay, Jenna Baumgard, Dana Bentley, Larry White, Denisse Vallecillos, and Shane Mickelsen.
