Confidence in front of a room comes from practice, not perfection. Speakers Lab gives our community a welcoming place to get that practice. You can try something new, get one useful note, and try it again with people who want you to do well.

Over two hours, the group moves through prepared talks, panel practice, impromptu responses to surprise prompts, and longer featured presentations. Each round ends with friendly, specific feedback you can use right away. The skills carry over to presentations, panel discussions, interviews, readings, and storytelling.

All experience levels are welcome, from people working through stage fright to experienced presenters who want to sharpen their delivery. Speaking in front of the group is encouraged but never required, and supporting others’ practice is just as valuable.

The workshop is facilitated by Jared Quan and presented by Big World Network and the Cultural Arts Society of West Jordan. Admission is free and open to the community. Registration is encouraged, and walk-ins are always welcome.
